VISTAs attend Bradenton Kiwanis meeting; 'meet and greet David Lawrence, Jr. of the Children's Movement of Florida

We first met David Lawrence, Jr. in the fall of last year when he brought the Milk (and cookies) Party to Sarasota. He is leading the Children's Movement of Florida to make us all aware of "the wellbeing and education of our children in Florida must be the highest priority..." http://www.childrensmovementflorida.org/

Thanks to Kiwanian and former "VISTAh-Sistah" Karen Carpenter, several VISTAs attended today's weekly Kiwanis meeting to listen to his message. Of course we got Mr. Lawrence to join us for a group photo!

Joining us for lunch were VISTAs Joyce Whitworth, Nina Wiley (representing Suncoast Center for Independent Living), Geneva Presha, Emily Dunlap, Ellie De Leon, Liz Sibell-Field and Tori Bell. VISTA alums at the table were Virginia Sirocky, Jo Ann Spencer and Karen Carpenter.
